第12章（代名詞）

解説動画中の例を含め，ライティングでよく見られる誤りをいくつか紹介します。

・I bought the book last week, but I haven’t read yet.

※read→read it（代名詞の入れ忘れ）

・I asked my father to buy a Nintendo game console.

※buyの後ろにmeを入れる。

・There is a river near my house. I often went fishing when I was a child.

※ fishingの後ろにthereを入れる。

・The art museum is famous for beautiful garden.

※ ... famous for its beautiful garden。この文ではitsがベスト。theだと「（既に話題に出ている）その庭園），aだと「（複数あるうちの）１つの美しい庭園」と解釈される。

・My sister likes singing. I sometimes go to karaoke with my sister.

※ with my sister → with her

・I live in Osaka. Osaka is the third largest city of Japan.

※第２文のOsaka → It。「同じ名詞の繰り返しを避ける」というルールは非常に大切。

・My brother is looking for his job now.

※his → a。his jobは「彼が既についている仕事」。

・Thanks to the diet, my mother has lost her weight.

※her → 削除またはsome。herだと「体重を全部失った」ように響く。donate [×my] blood（献血する）も同様。

これらはライティングでのちょっとした注意点ですが，代名詞をグループ分けして個々の語の用法を解説するタイプの規範的な文法書では，こういうことをあまり説明しません。
